Messe 2008 reports
Hi All,
Well, the Frankfurt Musik Messe (Fair) is now over for 2008. I had several members of the press come by to do video interviews, and here's the first one to be posted:
http://www.delamar.de/solaris-video/
You can scroll down a bit to reach the video screen. I think this gives a pretty good overview of the Solaris, and you get to hear some more audio examples, including the new Rotor function.
cheers,
john b.

This video is proof of why I agreed to sell my Oberheims.
You have hit a Grand Slam in the 12th inning John !!
You have suceeded in bringing a synth that is light years ahead of anything I currently own.
It has the immediate hands on control that a live synth requires and the sounds are impressive.
My dream synth has arrived.
The multiple, updatable LCD's are so appropriate, and necessary to control this behemoth.
How does it feel to be like Neil Armstrong?

Here's another video from Messe 2008:

I attempt to speak a little bit of Spanish, but I was a rather tired there (having had about 3 hours' sleep), and the brain didn't function quite so smoothly.

Thanks for reposting the link John, I couldn't get it to work before.
The sound of the Solaris transcends language, it speaks the language of beauty, craftsmanship and passion.
I loved the rotor sounds, I can see it being the basis of some very creative sounds and sparking creativity in songwriting.
I like the quote about Solaris in this month's (April)Keyboard magazine in the Best of NAMM from A to Z..I quote "Nothing we're saying here can match walking up to the thing and just playing a major triad. It really does sound huge."
Ladies and Gentlemen..You ain't seen nothin yet!

I can't thank you enough JB for creating this synth, and incorporating these features.
I am well aware that I am technologically stuck in the past w/ my constant whining for analog emulations, and access to parameters for live performance.
This synth has all of that, and the future wrapped up into one incredible synth.
I can't thank you enough for it's creation.

I just was informed that Harmony Central has posted all of their videos from the 2008 Frankfurt Messe. You may have to scroll the list to find the Solaris - it's the 5th one listed from the top.
(There's several other interesting clips as well - I completely agree with what Dave Smith has to say about hardware vs software synths, of course! Also, you can hear a little bit of Solaris while he's talking, as we were directly across
