as much as i like the solaris, i guess it will be hard to win the award. how many units were sold to real customers up to now? so many potential buyers still consider it vaporware and see / have no chance to get one.

still no chance to get one in germany for months / years now. only a vague "on ...

i personally would prefer if john would continue developing the OS of the solaris instead of doing a rack version. no interest in a rack and the related, substantial work.

if any hardware development at all, then rather a completely different device (twisted sampler? FX unit?) instead of ...

i'm not john, but my guess would be:

1) the development of the solaris used up all synth related resources of JB in the last (5?) years. after all, there's something called life besides the work. :wink:
2) many potential xite ...

hopefully they won't complain about the lack of general MIDI.

ain't that the magazine whose review ratings and findings have a direct correlation with the amount a manufacturer spends on ads in the magazine?

Hi all. After reading, and hearing, and viewing many things about the Solaris, I must say that so far for a (close to)$4000 price tag I'm not really that impressed.

perfectly fine, King. solaris is not for everybody, john put this very clear from the beginning.
simply ignore it and focus on gear ...

according to johns last announcement a few weeks /months back, the first batch of solaris' should be assembled these days (i.e. in september) in order to be shipped next month.
so we finally might be close to the S-day!

let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

i have a dream - one day i'll get a big box with a john bowen logo on it!
