Re: Sequencer section broken on Xite! Will it ever be fixed?
type of bug: Sequencer settings unresponsive until dsp reload(reallocation or sample rate switch)
The sew section is broken on Xite! Will this ever get addressed?
I’m sure people would be willing to pay/upgrade to a Xite optimised version! I know I would!
Are you sure ZARG owns a XITE-1 w ...

Re: Solaris Expander Announced
Voices are not freely assignable across the DSPs. Each DSP can play 2 voices of one sound.
Unfortunately, yes, a monophonic patch will still require one DSP, so you do “lose” a voice (unless your mono patch is using Unison, in which case you have a 2 voices stack).
Thank you,- losing a voice is ...

Re: Solaris Expander?
Only even voice numbers are possible because each of 5 DSP chips produce 2 voices (the 6th DSP manages the FX and output routing). The parameters for a program are downloaded to the chip when selected, and so each one plays 2 voices with the same settings.
(Technically we could have 5 parts ...

Re: Solaris Expander?
Ahh,- that´s sad ...
2x 4-voice poly and 2x monphonic for bass AND lead were tempting.
It´s a shame wasting a voice when you want a monophonic zone.
How comes only even numbers are possible ?
2x 5-voice poly would be interesting too.

Re: Solaris Expander?
Polyphony 16 voices, 4 by 4 zone maybe?
I understood it will be still 10 voices w/ some options like " 4 | 2 | 2 | 2 ", " 4 | 4 | 1 | 1 |" or " 4 | 4 | 2" leaving a unsused/inactive zone etc..
It´s all about each SHARC DSP delivers 2 voices.
Plz correct me if I´m wrong.
:)

Re: Solaris Expander?
I was aware of the Kurzweil ribbon, of course, but we’d need to make a big hardware modification to add the connector and circuitry. As you should know, the Solaris ribbon outputs two ribbon controller signals, and these are mapped to CC18 & 19.
I´m aware it´s impossible to use "as it is" and ...

Re: Solaris Expander?
Awesome.
Been wanting either this or a rack, depending on feature set.
Me too ...
The Ribbon could be a 3rd party device,...
Thomann actually blows out the 3-Zone Kurzweil Ribbon for peanuts.
Has the RJ45 network connector though ...
... same with joystick.
In general,- yes.
Might be ...

Please contact Sonic Core directly for more information on the Solaris rack: info@soniccore.com
Thx,- I´ve sent a request and hope for something insightful also for the question if we can expect some SCOPE controller device for the SCOPE platform to control the 1HU "blackbox".
I´d been not ...

Re: Zarg updates
As far as I understand it, there are no updates I can do for my Scope plug-ins. What exactly did you have in mind?
No new features, but maybe there are chances optimizing the code.
I´m not the only one and unfortunately cannot find the thread where it started to be discussed a few days before ...

Re: other Solaris hardware ideas
1) A keyboard less “expander” type, a la the Oberheim Expander. Complete front panel with all displays, but probably without wheels, joystick, ribbon, and obviously, keyboard.
Cool idea ( I own a Oberheim Xpander),- but probably nearly as expensive as the keyboard version.
2) A small 1 u ...

Re: Solaris Vrs. 5.0.8 BETA
I would definitely ask for keys to run on your Scope cards. You may not get any more polyphony, however.
Thx, yes, I don´t expect more polyphony on a single Pro card but better overall operation.
With the Scope/XITE systems, you have code that is running on the dsps, and code that is managed ...
