I followed your suggestion:
under 2.1.0, I calibrated the wheels so that the min position is midway
pressed exit (I guess this is how we 'save' or I missed something)
tested it: good, the mod wheel does its effect only starting from the mid position
powered down
powered up to see if the calibration ...

Re: Calibration result not kept
For me the, the ribbon has "no value" too. The 1+3+8 calibration does not seem to detect it.
When requesting the 'rightmost position', no value is displayed.
When requesting the 'leftmost position', a line with 'Position: -1' appears, but pressing the leftmost position does not modify the '-1' value ...

Re: Calibration result not kept
I'm not in front of the unit until Monday, but if I remember well, it's the latest OS version. I'll check Monday to see if it's the same with other controllers.
I can also downgrade the OS to see if it's related to a particular version. Which one do you think I should test first?

Re: Calibration result not kept
Hi,
I'm having a similar problem: the Mod wheel and the Aftertouch are not calibrated. I used the 1+3+8 procedure, calibrated them, exited, and the Mod wheel and the Aftertouch worked correctly... Until I rebooted and the calibration is lost...
(To John: I still have the Pitch wheel problem we ...

Re: Solaris Sequencer and Arpeggiator Update!
no no, I was just pointing out that the new way of entering notes in the sequence using the keyboard (as the video shows) is very welcomed, and if it were the only new feature of the new sequencer stuff in the upcoming OS, this update would already be valuable!...

Got it, I'll try with the DIN connection, thanks.
[Edit] it works with the DIN connection.

Re: SysEx Update for v2.x.x OS Users
still no luck with sending a preset to the Solaris. Worse, the upload seems to crash the usb-midi connection, the Solaris unit is not available anymore as a midi device, I have to reboot it to make it available again.

Re: SysEx Update for v2.x.x OS Users
ok, thanks Jim, I'll try that.
Btw, there seems to be a typo in the sysex document, in the Identity Request Response table.
Shouldn't the device family code be : 10 00 for the Solaris instead of: 00 01?
and shouldn't the Device family member code be : 01 00 for the keyboard instead of 00 01?
That ...

Re: SysEx Update for v2.x.x OS Users
I'm trying to develop a solaris driver for the KnobKraft sysex manager https://github.com/christofmuc/KnobKraft-orm.
I succeeded in receiving data, finding the preset name etc.
However, I cannot find out whether the solaris is able to handle a bulk upload preset, and how to do so...
Best.

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
Still, it would be possible to set different voices to have slightly different offsets to some parameters like filter, EG times, etc.
That would be nice, indeed, if it's not too complicated to do!
But pairs of voices would have to have the same offsets because of the way the Solaris is designed ...

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
Thanks Jim for chiming in.
Do you have reason to think that these parameters are being set per-voice? On a synth such as the Rev 2? I would rather think this changes the parameter for all voices. That’s how it works in the Solaris. I mean, what if it did work per-voice but you wanted to modulate ...

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
For example - let’s say you want keystep to give you a slight pitch variation using one of the mod lanes, so you set it for a very small pitch mod amount, then a long decay, so that multiple pressings of the same key will give you a slightly varying overlay of detuned notes. With keystep mode ...

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
John, Jim, since ratcheting is about the seq, is there any chance that you implement what's now known under the name "Voice Component Modelling", i.e. using multiple internal seqs in keystep mode to slightly modulate parameters per voice as discussed here?:

Re: opposite of Note
1) Osc 2 Modulation by Note - the smallest amount of modulation for pitch that you can set is 0.1, so I dialed that in as a -0.1 to the pitch of Osc 2.
2) But that offsets the unison pitch, so I set Osc 2 Fine’s tuning to +27
That's exactly the values I came up with. Except, I added a "MaxVal ...
