These first two pictures are of the prototype Solaris models shown at the 2007 Frankfurt Messe.
Please scroll to the bottom of this page to see the cases in their original state when we first picked them up (note the side panels are switched from the Messe versions). Note also that the 'silver' side is as thick as the wood side, but that now we have decided to use the thinner metal side type shown in the renditions below.
Here's a recent photo from the NAMM show where I have re-stained the cherry wood sides to a darker color (red oak), and put them on the darker color case prototype:

And now a number of photos I did at home, with 3 sets of different wood panels from synthwood.com. This will give you an idea of what could be one variation offered through them (www.synthwood.com).
First a shot of the ash and walnut end caps, and then a number of close-up shots of the red heart maple mounted on the prototype:
Here are the other 2 pairs of end caps mounted on the prototype. First the Pacific Northwest Walnut:
and here's the ash panels:
Next are two artist's renditions of alternate wood sides. These are depicted with much thinner and darker wood.
Lastly, here are two more renditions, this time showing thinner aluminum sides. This will be the final look for the aluminum side panels, and without the back aluminum strip, as depicted with the lighter color case.

Just loaded into the car - our precious new babies!
